thanks, vow, for putting mine and veronica’s shots in this issue! Â ps…george kartis did the cover shot.

i’ve had the pleasure of shooting weddings down on the outer banks for the past 7 years, give or take. i’ve thrown in my lot with a few of my good friends/collegues/damn good photographers to get us a little more presence down there. so, here goes.

here’s another “reworking” of a shot from a month ago. i took two shots of this and plugged them into a hdr program i picked up. i also, as you may notice, ran across some images to wash into the photo. geeky. this is similar to when i had my darkroom up and running. i’d print a shot. then look at the neg. and, a few weeks later, do something else with it. really, this is just the look i would be shooting for if i was in the darkroom(that’s, sadly, collecting dust in the basement).

susanne and bill stopped by after a commercial shoot the other day. they are tying the knot on june 1st. thanks for hiring me.
what a pretensious title! ooooohhhhh…..i’m so artisitic. gimme a break. i ran across this “flickr” group dedicated to shooting through old cameras. they actually, construct these contraptions to connect their modern slrs to the old camera. you just can’t make a filter with this look. not that anyone may actually want this look. but, i’m a fan. the ricoh below was my grandfather’s, big eck. the skull has no hidden meaning. i needed something to see how light fell on a subject with a lighting set up. it really is a cool skull, though. i just don’t want anyone to get the idea that i’m some devil worshipper.
